PARLIAMENT

The newly refurbished Parliamentary Media Centre was opened by the Hon. Karu Jayasuriya, Speaker of Parliament on the 30th of September 2019 for the convenience of journalists engaging in reporting Parliamentary sittings.

The refurbished media centre which was entirely funded by USAID consists of fully equipped television and a radio studio, audio & video mixer, fax machines, printers and internet will provide facilities for Parliamentary correspondents and Journalists to cover their parliamentary sittings and committee meetings from their work station. The media Centre aims to bridge the gap and connect the parliament with the public of the country.

Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake, Parliamentary Officers, newspaper editors, heads of electronic media and parliamentary correspondents graced the event.
