PARLIAMENT

The inaugural ceremony of the South Asian Speakers’ Summit on Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals took place at Parliamentary Premises on 11th July 2018.

This was graced by the presence of the Hon. Prime Minister, Hon. Speakers of Parliament from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Hon. Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Sri Lanka, Hon. Deputy Chairman of Committees of Parliament of Sri Lanka and Hon. Members of Parliament.

Hon. Karu Jayasuriya, MP, Speaker of Parliament delivered the welcome speech. After the welcome speech, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs made the key note address at the Opening Ceremony.
