The President to present the Government Policy Statement in Parliament on the 21st at 11:30 am. |

The inaugural session of the 10th Parliament will commence on November 21st, 2024, at 10:00 am. Furthermore, Hon. President, Anura Dissanayaka shall present the Government Policy Statement at 11:30 am on the same day.
In accordance with Article 33(a) of the Constitution, the President is empowered to present the Government Policy Statement at the commencement of a Parliamentary session. Additionally, as stipulated under Article 33(b) of the Constitution, the President is entitled to preside over the ceremonial sittings of Parliament.
During this session, the President will deliver a comprehensive explanation of the government’s vision and forthcoming initiatives through the Policy Statement, addressing both Parliament and the public.
