Parliament.lk enhances its reachability |
Date : | 31-08-2010 |
The Parliament website has implemented social media sharing and Web 2.0 technologies as a move to improve its reachability in the modern web context. This is the first time a parliament website in the region has made use of a combined approach of using these techniques for the afore-mentioned objective.
The integration of sharing links to Twitter and Facebook on news pages will enable a user to share a specific news story on Facebook or to 'tweet' it to his/her Twitter profile.
Furthermore, three RSS (most commonly expanded as Really Simple Syndication) feeds are provided for the 'Parliament Calendar', Publications and News categories. A user who subscribes (via an RSS reader) to any one of these 'feeds' is able to stay up-to-date with any new addition to each category. RSS is considered as an exemplary manifestation of the Web 2.0 concept.
