- The President to make a statement regarding the implementation of external debt restructuring agreements tomorrow
- Committee on Parliamentary Business decides not to hold the debate on the Resolution for the Implementation of External Debt Restructuring Agreements which was scheduled to be held tomorrow (July 02).
The remains of the former opposition leader and the leader of Illankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK) party, Member of Parliament late Hon. Rajavarothiam Sampanthan will Lie-in-State in the ceremonial hall located in front of the Parliament building from 2.00pm to 4.00 pm on the 3rd of July for final respects.
This was decided at the Committee on Parliamentary Business held today (01) afternoon, under the Chairmanship of Speaker Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and with the participation of Prime Minister Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena. Accordingy the committee has decided not to hold Parliament sittings on the 3rd of July.
Meanwhile, it was also decided in the Committee on Parliamentary Business to present only a special statement of the President tomorrow (02) regarding the implementation of external debt restructuring agreements. Accordingly, it has been decided not to hold the debate on the related resolution which was scheduled to be held tomorrow (02).
