PARLIAMENT

Mr. Ali Achoui Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Sri Lanka, recently met the Speaker Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana in Parliament. Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera, Secretary General of Parliament was also present at this occasion.

Attention of both parties were focused on strengthening the relations between the two countries, and the Algerian Ambassador stated that they expect to establish the Sri Lanka-Algeria Parliamentary Friendship Association.

The establishment of trade relations between the two countries through Sri Lanka's tea, cinnamon and garment industries was also discussed. Meanwhile, attention was also paid regarding the relations pertaining to the tourism sector.
