Co-opted Members appointed for the consideration of Bills

South Lanka Academy for Tertiary Education and Leadership (Incorporation)” Bill

The Speaker Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana informed to the House In terms of Standing Order 113(2) of Parliament, he has nominated the following Members of Parliament as the      Co-opted Members to serve in the Legislative Standing Committee for the consideration of the “South Lanka Academy for Tertiary Education and Leadership (Incorporation)” Bill

Accordingly, Hon. Rohana Dissanayaka, Hon. A. Aravindh Kumar, Hon. Ashok Abeysinghe, Hon. Karunadasa Kodithuwakku, Hon. Isuru Dodangoda, Hon. Kins Nelson, Hon. Rohana Bandara, Hon. Nipuna Ranawaka have been nominated for the said Legislative Standing Committee.

 

Pharmaceutical Society of Sri Lanka (Incorporation) Bill

The following Members of Parliament have been nominated as the   Co-opted Members to serve in the Legislative Standing Committee for the consideration of the “Pharmaceutical Society of Sri Lanka (Incorporation) Bill”

Accordingly, Hon. (Prof.) Channa Jayasumana, Hon. Jayantha Ketagoda, Hon. (Dr.) Kavinda Heshan Jayawardhana, Hon. U. K. Sumith Udukumbura, Hon. (Dr.) Upul Galappaththi, Hon. Milan Jayathilake, Hon. (Mrs.) Rajika Wickramasinghe, Hon. Samanpriya Herath have been nominated for the said Legislative Standing Committee.

 

Ruhunu Awakening Organization (Incorporation) Bill

The Hon. Speaker announced that he has nominated the following Members of Parliament as the     Co-opted Members to serve in the Legislative Standing Committee for the consideration of the “Ruhunu Awakening Organization (Incorporation) Bill”

Accordingly, Hon. Rohana Dissanayaka, Hon. Prasanna Ranaweera, Hon. Shantha Bandara, Hon. Ashok Abeysinghe, Hon. Isuru Dodangoda, Hon. Kins Nelson, Hon. Rohana Bandara, Hon. Nipuna Ranawaka have been nominated for the said Legislative Standing Committee.

 

Member nominations to Ministerial Consultative Committees

Ministerial Consultative Committee on Ports, Shipping and Aviation

The Hon. Speaker further announced to inform the House that the following Members have also been nominated by the Committee of Selection to serve in the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Ports, Shipping and Aviation in terms of the provisions of Standing Order 112 of Parliament and the motion agreed to by Parliament on 09 February 2024.

Accordingly, Hon. Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, Hon. Johnston Fernando, Hon. A. H. M. Fowzie have been nominated to serve in the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Ports, Shipping and Aviation.

 

Ministerial Consultative Committee on Fisheries

The following Members have been nominated by the Committee of Selection to serve in the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Fisheries

Accordingly,    Hon. K. Kader Masthan , Hon. Mayadunna Chinthaka Amal, Hon. Marjan Faleel have been nominated to serve in the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Fisheries.

 

Ministerial Consultative Committee on Trade, Commerce and Food Security

The following Members have also been nominated by the Committee of Selection to serve in the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Trade, Commerce and Food Security.

Accordingly, Hon. Vadivel Suresh, Hon. Nimal Lanza, Hon. Karunadasa Kodithuwakku have been nominated to serve in the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Trade, Commerce and Food Security.

 

Ministerial Consultative Committee on Technology

Moreover, the following Members have also been nominated by the Committee of Selection to serve in the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Technology in terms of the provisions of Standing Order 112 of Parliament and the motion agreed to by Parliament on 09 February 2024.

Accordingly, Hon. Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, Hon. Premnath C. Dolawatte, Hon. Samanpriya Herath have been nominated to serve in the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Technology.
