A program from Parliament for the students of Arafa National College, Weligama |

A program to educate school children about the Parliamentary system conducted by the Department of Communication of the Parliament of Sri Lanka was recently held at Arafa National College, Weligama.
Assistant Director (Administration) of Parliament Mr. M.U.M Vasik, Librarian of Parliament Mr. Siyath Ahemed and Public Outreach Officer Mr. Yasry Mohamed contributed as resource personals for this program and many teachers and students including the principal of the school Mr. M.T.M. Muthahhar were present at this program held.
Mr. M.U.M Vasik, a distinguished alumnus of Arafa National College Weligama, the Assistant Director (Administration) of Parliament, while giving his remarks, pointed out to the students that the correct understanding of parliamentary affairs is very important not only for the syllabus but also for future leadership.
Knowledge pertaining to the legislative process of the Parliament, the committee system, parliamentary traditions and other matters were explained to the students with practical experience and in a simple manner throughout this program.
