Presentation of Reports from the Committees

The Report of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms was presented by the Hon. (Dr.) Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, PC, the Chair of the Committee.

The Hon. Chief Government Whip moved the Bill entitled

“Banking (Amendment)”

to amend the Banking Act, No. 30 of 1988.

The Hon. Udaya Gammanpila was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled

“Twenty Second Amendment to the Constitution”


Main Business of the House for Today

The following Items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 5 of today’s Order Paper) were approved by the House:-

(i)    Two Resolutions under the Essential Public Services Act
(ii)    Three Regulations under the Judicature Act


Adjournment Motion

Adjournment Motion on “Current Situation of the Country” was proposed by the Hon. Thushara Indunil Amarasena.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1730 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Thursday 22nd February 2024.
