Presentation of Reports from the Committees

The Reports and the Minutes of the Legislative Standing Committee on “Sri Balabhivurdhi Wardana Samithiya (Incorporation) Bill”, “Samadhi Community Development Foundation (Incorporation) Bill” and “Dassana Bauddha Sanvidhanaya (Incorporation) Bill” were presented by the Hon. Ajith Rajapakse, the Deputy Speaker, the Chair of the Committee.

Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament moved the Bill entitled

“Value Added Tax (Amendment)”

to amend the Value Added Tax Act, No. 14 of 2002.


Adjournment Motion

Adjournment Motion on “Increasing cost of living and prevention of malnutrition” was proposed by the Hon. Kabir Hashim.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1730 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Friday 12th January 2024.
