His Excellency the President by virtue of the powers vested in him by Article 70 of the Constitution dissolved the Parliament with effect from the midnight of the 9th of February 2010 and summoned the new Parliament to meet on the 22nd of April 2010.
In addition to this, the date for the Parliamentary General Election has been fixed to 08.04.2010, while the nomination period has been specified as 19.02.2010 to 26.02.2010. [Gazette Extraordinary No. 1640/16 of 9th February 2010]
