The Appropriation (Amendment) Bill passed by majority vote in Parliament |

The third reading of the Appropriation (Amendment) Bill to amend the Appropriation Act No. 30 of 2021 was passed in Parliament today (02) without a vote.
The second reading of the Appropriation (Amendment) Bill was passed by a majority of 115 votes in Parliament, with 120 votes in favor and 05 votes against. Also 43 MPs abstained from voting.
Leader of the National People's Power (NPP), Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, asked for a division on the Second Reading of the Appropriation (Amendment) Bill, and accordingly the voting was held.
The President Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stability and National Policies, presented the inauguration speech of the Second Reading of the Appropriation (Amendment) Bill on August 30th. After that, the debate on the Second Reading of the Appropriation (Amendment) Bill was held last August 31, September 01 and today.
