PARLIAMENT

His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrived in Parliament today (05) at around 10.05 a.m.

His Excellency the President was accorded a warm welcome by the Hon. Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando along with Hon. State Ministers Kanaka Herath and D. V. Chanaka at the main Parliament entrance.

H.E the President then entered the Chamber accompanied by the Hon. Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando and other Ministers and took his seat in next to the Hon. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Hon. Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena.

Hon. Minister of Trade (Dr.) Bandula Gunawardana, was addressing the Parliament while the H.E the President took his seat.

After leaving the Chamber, H.E the President went to his office in Parliament and stayed there for a while.

H.E. the President also visited Parliament on the 08th of April where he chaired the Consultative Committee on Defence for the first time as the Minister of Defence.

The President has also attended Parliament Sittings on the 11th of February.
