PARLIAMENT

Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, Speaker of Parliament of Sri Lanka participated at the virtual session of the Standing Committee Meeting of the Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) Yesterday (18). He participated in this meeting as the representative for Asia Region.

Mr. Dhammika Dasanayake, Secretary General of Parliament also joined with the Hon. Speaker at this meeting. The Speakers and representatives of the 9 regions of the Commonwealth, i.e. Africa, Asia, Australia /New Zealand, Canada, the Caribbean, the Atlantic & the Americas, British Isles & the Mediterranean, India, the Pacific and Southeast Asia were also present at this virtual meeting.

This meeting of Standing Committee was held in virtual format due to the COVID- 19 Pandemic. The 26th CSPOC Conference will be held in Canberra, Australia in January 2022.
