Speaker Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane has put his signature validating the 20^th Amendment to the Constitution which was passed in Parliament with an overwhelming majority on October 22^nd.

The Speaker signed the certificate of the constitutional amendment at around 11.30 a.m this morning. The Secretary General of Parliament Mr Dhammika Dasanayake and the Deputy Secretary General & Chief of Staff of Parliament Mr Neil Iddawala were also present at the occasion.
 
Thereby the Twentieth Amendment to the Constitution will be implemented in full from today.
