PARLIAMENT

The Committee on Parliamentary Business consisting of 26 Members of Parliament was announced by the Hon. Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena in Parliament this morning (27).

According to the Standing Orders of Parliament, Hon. Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena is the Chairperson and Deputy Speaker  Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Deputy Chairperson of  Committees Hon. Angajan Ramanathan, Leader of the House and Minister Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Leader of the Opposition Hon. Sajith Premadasa, Chief Government Whip and Minister Hon. Johnston Fernando, Chief Opposition Whip Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, were announced as members of the committee.

In addition Hon. Chamal Rajapaksa, Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, Hon. Prof. G.L Peiris, Hon. Douglas Devananda, Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma, Hon. Wimal Weerawansa, Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, Hon. Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Hon. Prasanna Ranatunga, Hon. Mahinda Samarasingha, Hon. Gayantha Karunathilaka,  Hon. Rauf Hakeem, Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Hon. Dilan Perera, Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, Hon. Ranjith Maddumabandara, Hon. Mano Ganeshan, Hon. M.A Sumanthiran and Hon. Ali Sabri Raheem are the other members.
