His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa presided at the Ceremonial Sitting of Parliament for opening of the Fourth Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

The Secretary-General of Parliament read out the Proclamations issued by His Excellency the President proroguing Parliament and Summoning the Meeting. Thereafter, His Excellency the President addressed the Parliament.

The Parliament was, thereafter suspended until 1300 Hrs., where Sittings resumed later on this day.
