The Most Ven. Mahanayake Thera and the Karaka Maha Sangha Sabha of the Malwathu Maha Vihara Chapter bestowed the honour of “Sasana Keerthi Shri Deshabhimani” on Speaker Hon. Karu Jayasuriya. The awarding of the related grant was held at the Malwatta Maha Vihara Uposathagaraya on Tuesday, March 19^th.

Previously, the honours of “Vishva Keerthi Shri Lanka Janaranjana” and ‘Saarartha Darshi Janatha Nayaka” were awarded to Mr Jayasuriya by the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya.

Last year he was a recipient of the highest honour from Japan, “Order of the Rising Sun”, which is awarded by the Emperor of Japan. Speaker Jayasuriya was also presented with the “Vishwa Saama” award in 2017, and the “Pride of Asia” award earlier this month from Abdulkalam Institute of Technological Sciences in India.
