Hon. Danushka Ranganath,—To ask the Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure,— (1)

(a) Will he inform this House of the —

(i) number of tea small holders in the Kalutara District;

(ii) contribution of the said tea small holders to the national tea exports  in Sri Lanka;

(iii) number of Tea Small Holding Development Societies in the Kalutara District where fertilizer and agricultural equipment can be obtained; and

(iv) measures that have been taken for the welfare of the tea small holders?

(b) Will he also inform this House —

(i) whether he has got acquainted with the method by which members are enrolled to the tea small holding development societies and the method by which elections are conducted in those societies;

(ii) if so, of the methods concerned, separately; and

(iii) whether details of the methods will be tabled?

(c) If not, why?
