Hon. Harshana Rajakaruna,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education,— (1)

(a) Will she inform this House —

(i) of the number of schools that have been designated as National Schools under the programme to establish 1000 National Schools in each of the Divisional Secretariat Division, separately;

(ii) of the amount of money that was allocated separately for the construction of name board and main entrance gate of each of the said National Schools;

(iii) whether the schools concerned are currently administered by the line Ministry or by the respective Provincial Council;

(iv) accordingly, of the total number of National Schools that have been established up to now;

(v) of the names of those schools; and

(vi) whether the physical resources of the said National Schools will be developed and the schools will be brought under the purview of the line Ministry?

(b) If not, why?
