Hon. Aruna Panagoda,—To ask the Minister of Urban Development, Construction and Housing,— (1)

(a) Is he aware that the —

(i) drainage sewerage system at the Homagama, Maththegoda Housing Scheme has been defunct for a number of years now; and

(ii) National Water Supply and Drainage Board has been constructing a fence around this sewerage system at present?

(b) Will he inform this House —

(i) of the amount estimated for the construction of the fence referred to above;

(ii) of the date on which its construction was commenced and date on which the construction is supposed to be completed, separately;

(iii) of the construction firm that has been selected for the construction;

(iv) whether the specified tender procedure has been followed in selecting the firm concerned;

(v) whether he is aware that the roads that people had been using for around 40 years have been obstructed completely because of the construction of the fence; and

(vi) if so, of the measures that will be taken to rectify this situation?

(c) If not, why?
