Hon. Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam,—To ask the Minister of Health and Mass Media,— (1)

(a) Is he aware that —

(i) a government pharmacy (Osu Sala) is not available within the Manmune South Eruvil Pattu Divisional Secretariat Division in the Batticaloa District;

(ii) the relevant parties, when informed of the above fact, stated that a building with adequate space to establish a government pharmacy is not available; and

(iii) there is nevertheless a building that had been constructed for the very purpose of establishing a government pharmacy at the Kaluvanchikudy Base Hospital?

(b) If so, will he inform this House whether steps will be taken to establish a government pharmacy in the building constructed at the Kaluvanchikudy Base Hospital premises?

(c) If not, why?
