Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara, Attorney at Law,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)

(a) Will he inform this House of the —

(i) total area of lands in which crops were damaged due to adverse weather that affected Sri Lanka in November 2024;

(ii) total area of lands that cultivated each crop damaged, i.e. paddy fields, maize fields, and lands cultivated with other crops etc, separately; and 

(iii) estimated financial loss caused by the damage to crops?

(b) Will he also inform this House of the —

(i) total amount of compensation paid for the damaged crops ;

(ii) total amount of compensation paid for each damaged paddy field, maize cultivation and lands cultivated with other crops, separately;

(iii) total area of lands that cultivated crops for which compensation has not yet been paid; and

(iv) reasons for not paying the compensation for the lands referred to above?

(c) If not, why?
