Hon. Ajith P. Perera,—To ask the Minister of Energy,— (1)

(a) Will he inform this House —

(i) whether the Government of Sri Lanka has entered into agreements with the Adani Group of India or any of its subsidiaries to promote wind power and solar power in Sri Lanka;

(ii) if so, whether aforesaid agreement will be submitted;

(iii) of the primary objectives of the aforesaid agreement;

(iv) of the basis on which the aforesaid company was given the opportunity to generate electricity in Sri Lanka, without calling for competitive tenders;

(v) whether he admit that the aforesaid company does not fall within the meaning of “Government to Government” as per the Sri Lanka Electricity Act; and

(vi) of the policy of the government regarding the aforesaid agreement?

(b) If not, why?
