PARLIAMENT

The Sectoral Oversight Committee on International Relations informs expert to prepare and submit a report on the strategic measures of the Foreign Service in relation to attracting foreign investments to Sri Lanka.

This was notified when the said Committee chaired by Member of Parliament Hon. Namal Rajapaksa met in Parliament presided over by Member of Parliament Hon. (Prof.) G. L. Peiris.

It was emphasized that the Foreign Service of Sri Lanka has a great responsibility to attract and maintain investment and business opportunities from foreign countries by maintaining good relations with foreign investors, political authorities and other related parties. The presiding Chair also stated that the facts of the relevant report will be considered and further steps will be taken.

Members of Parliament Hon. Niroshan Perera and Hon. Madhura Withanage, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, experts and youth representatives of the Committee also attended this meeting.
