PARLIAMENT

The Deputy Speaker Hon. Ajith Rajapakse announced to Parliament today (29) that the following Members have been nominated by the Committee of Selection, to serve in the Backbencher Committee, with the Chief Government Whip as the Chair and the Chief Opposition Whip, in terms of the provisions of the Standing Order 126 of the Parliament and the motion agreed to by Parliament on 10th August 2022.

Accordingly, Hon. Kapila Athukorala, Hon. S. Noharathalingam, Hon. Selvarajah Kajendren,
Hon. Waruna Liyanage,Hon. Thisakutti Arachchi, Hon. M. Udayakumar, Hon. Sanjeeva Edirimanna, Hon. Karunadasa Kodithuwakku, Hon. (Major) Sudarshana Denipitiya, Hon. W. H. M. Dharmasena, Hon. Kins Nelson, Hon. Rohana Bandara, Hon. Kumarasiri Rathnayaka Hon. Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam, Hon. D. Weerasingha and  Hon. (Mrs.) Manjula Dissanayake have been nominated to serve in the Backbencher Committee.
