COPE summons Coconut Development Authority, Coconut Cultivation Board and Coconut Research Institute |

The Coconut Development Authority, the Coconut Cultivation Board and the Coconut Research Institute were summoned to the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) yesterday (21).
The committee met under the patronage of its chairman Prof. Charitha Herath and Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, State Minister Indika Anuruddha, Members of Parliament Patali Champika Ranawaka, Eran Wickramaratne, Premnath C. Dolawatta, S. Rasamanikkam and government officials were present. In addition, nearly 40 government officials joined online this committee.
The Committee focused on issues related to the Vacancies in these 03 institutions, providing relief to the coconut industry, promotion of coconut related products in the world market, construction of a new building for the Negombo Seed Unit, "Pasikuda Coconut Garden" project of the Coconut Cultivation Board, "Wewili Saviya Project", printing of stickers for the Coconut Development Authority for its promotional activities, coconut land fragmentation, database on Annual Coconut Production , mite and pest control in coconut cultivation.
This COPE meeting was held for more than 03 hours.
