PARLIAMENT

The chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts MP and Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna stated that the Committee on Public Accounts report on Finance and Performance of 844 Government Institutions last year is scheduled to be submitted to Parliament next meeting.

The Committee on Public Accounts approved the report on the 26th of November 2019. The committee chairman stated that this is the first time that a report on the previous years’ financial and performance of all state institutions is presented in Parliament.

The Public Accounts Committee, in addition to reviewing the reports of the Auditor General in relation to government agencies, has commenced an annual evaluation process using Computer Information Technology in accordance with the Finance and Performance of all Government Institutions from the year 2015. This report also will be tabled in Parliament.

The Chairman of the Committee, MP Lasantha Alagiyawantha further states that 26 reports pertaining to the Auditor General's report would be presented to Parliament in the coming session.
