“Bill to provide for freedom of access to official information; specify grounds on which access may be denied: the establishment of the Freedom of Information Commission: the appointment of Information Officers; setting out the procedure for making requests for information and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.”
A division by name was taken (32 in favour; 99 against; 93 absent) and the Hon. Karu Jayasuriya was not granted leave to introduce the above Bill.
The Hon. Neranjan Wickremasinghe was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled "Madahapola Sri Ratnapalaramaya Religious and Buddhist Educational Development Foundation (Incorporation)".
The Hon. Thilanga Sumathipala was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled "Sri Lanka Psychological Association (Incorporation)".
