Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament moved the following Bills:-

Registration of Deaths (Temporary Provisions)

to provide for the Registration of Deaths of persons reported missing as a result of terrorist or subversive activity or civil commotion and of persons whose deaths are directly attributable to any natural disaster or calamity and such activity, disaster or calamity results in serious consequences at national level; and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Local Authorities (Special Provisions)

to amend the Municipal Councils Ordinance, the Urban Councils Ordinance and the Pradeshiya Shabhas Act, No. 15 of 1987.

Local Authorities Elections (Amendment)

to amend the Local Authorities Elections Ordinance.


Main Business of the House for Today

Four Orders under the Mahaweli Authority Act, No. 23 of 1979

were passed by the House.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1613 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 09th November 2010.
