Judicature (Amendment)

The Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament on behalf of the Minister of Justice moved the Bill to amend the Judicature Act, No.2 of 1978.


The Hon. Tissa Attanayake was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled "Japan, Sri Lanka, U.S.A. and German Socio Econ and Human Resources Development International Foundation, Asia (Incorporation)".

The Hon. R.M. Ranjith Madduma Bandara was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled "Kotasara Piyangala Rajamaha Viharastha Development Society (Incorporation)".

The Hon. A. Vinayagamoorthy was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled "Ramakrishna Sarada Mission (Lanka Branch) (Incorporation)".

The Hon. Neranjan Wickremasinghe was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled "T.B. Ekanayaka Foundation (Incorporation)".

The Hon. (Dr.) Sarath Weerasekara was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled "Anuradhapura Sri Pushpadana Development Foundation (Incorporation)".


Main Business of the House for Today

The following items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 3 of today’s Order Paper) were passed by the House:-

(i) Widows’ and Orphans’ Pension Fund (Amendment) Bill
(ii) Widowers’ and Orphans’ Pension (Amendment) Bill
(iii) Resolution under the Constitution on the salary of Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration (Ombudsman)


Motion at the Adjournment Time

Motion at the Adjournment Time on "Updating Electors’ Registers" was moved by the Hon. Ravi Karunanayake.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1905 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 3rd August 2010.
