Ministerial Statements

Hon. Shehan Semasinghe, State Minister of Finance on behalf of the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies made a Ministerial Statement regarding 2022 Annual Meeting of IMF and World Bank.


Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament moved the Bill entitled

“Inland Revenue (Amendment)”

to amend the Inland Revenue Act, No. 24 of 2017.


Private Members’ Bills

The Hon. Gamini Waleboda was granted leave to introduce the following Bill, entitled

“Institute of Drafting Technologists Sri Lanka (Incorporation)”


Main Business of the House for Today

Twenty Second Amendment to the Constitution Bill

The Second Reading of the Bill was passed by the House after having taken a division (179 in favour; 01 against).

The Third Reading of the Bill was passed by the House, with a majority of two-thirds. A Division was taken (174 in favour; 01 against) and the Bill was passed with amendments. 


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1845 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Tuesday 8th November 2022.
