Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Foreign Minister moved the Bill entitled

“Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) (Amendment)”

to amend the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act, No. 48 of 1979.


Main Business of the House for Today

The following Items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 5 of today’s Order Paper) were passed by the House:-
(i)    Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill - with amendments
(ii)    Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines Bill - with amendments
(iii)    Judicature (Amendment) Bill
(iv)    Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill
(v)    Provincial Councils (Transfer of Stamp Duty) (Amendment) Bill


Questions at the Adjournment Time

Two Questions were asked by following Members of Parliament:-

(ii)    The Hon. (Dr.) Upul Galappaththi


Motion at the Adjournment Time

Motion at the Adjournment Time on “Special committee to look into prisoners’ rights, welfare etc.” was proposed by the Hon. Premalal Jayasekara.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1734 Hrs. until 1000 Hrs. on Friday 11th February 2022.
