Presentation of Bills
The Bill entitled "Grant of Citizenship to Persons of Indian Origin (Amendment)"
The Chief Government Whip of Parliament on behalf of the Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Administration, and Deputy Minister of Defence, Public Security, Law and Order moved the Bill to amend the Grant of Citizenship to Persons of Indian Origin Act, No.35 of 2003.
The Bill entitled "Grant of Citizenship to Stateless Persons (Special Provisions) (Amendment)"
The Chief Government Whip of Parliament on behalf of the Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Administration, and Deputy Minister of Defence, Public Security, Law and Order moved the Bill to amend the Grant of Citizenship to Stateless Persons (Special Provisions) Act, No.39 of 1988.
The Bill entitled "Land Development Ordinance (Amendment)"
The Chief Government Whip of Parliament on behalf of the Minister of Land and Land Development moved the Bill to amend the Land Development Ordinance.
The Bill entitled "Sri Lanka Transport Board (Amendment)"
The Minister of Transport moved the Bill to amend the Sri Lanka Transport Board Act, No.27 of 2005.
Notice of Motions
Consultative Committees
House agreed to a Motion moved by the Chief Government Whip of Parliament that notwithstanding the Provisions of Standing Order 106, and the motion agreed to by Parliament on 08.07.2008, Consultative Committee on Defence, Public Security, Law and Order shall consist of not less than five (05) members and not more than thirty three (33) members appointed by the Committee of Selection.
Committee on Public Petitions
House agreed to a Motion moved by the Chief Government Whip of Parliament that notwithstanding the Provisions of Standing Order 128, and the motion agreed to by Parliament on 08.07.2008, the Committee on Public Petitions shall consist of thirty three (33) members to be nominated by the Committee of Selection.
"Bill to amend the Sri Lanka Chamber of Small Industry (Incorporation) Act, No.43 of 1981"
Hon. (Mrs.) Nirupama Rajapaksa was granted leave to introduce the Bill.

was passed with amendments by the House.
Motion at Adjournment Time
Motion at Adjournment Time on "Mihin Air" was moved by the Hon. Sunil Handunnetti, M.P.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1630 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Wednesday 24th September 2008.
