Ministerial Statements

The Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Environment replied to the Question raised by the Hon. Anura Dissanayaka under the Standing Order 27(2) of the Parliament on 07.07.2021 regarding Environmental issues arisen due to filling of Muthurajawela wetland.


Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Chief Government Whip moved the Bill entitled

“Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka”

to Establish the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka; to regulate market institutions, certain public offers of securities, market intermediaries; to protect investors and to provide for enforcement measures; to deal with market misconduct; and to overcome the challenges encountered by securities market regulators and to repeal the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka Act, No. 36 of 1987 and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1207 Hrs. until 1000 Hrs. on Monday 19th July 2021.
