PARLIAMENT

Hon. (Prof.) Sena Nanayakkara,—To ask the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs,— (1)

(a) Will he inform this House—

(i) of the number of Cultural Centers currently existing in Sri Lanka;

(ii) of the main function performed by the Cultural Centers referred to above in promoting cultural activities;

(iii) of the number of art institutions operating under Provincial Cultural Departments;

(iv) of the function of such art institutions; and

(v) whether there are any registered art institutions that are not in an active state at present?

(b) Will he also inform this House —

(i) of the total amount spent by the government for the Annual Literary Festival conducted by Divisional Secretariats in 2024;

(ii) of the amount allocated to each Divisional Secretariat Division for the Literary Festival,  separately;

(iii) whether the amount concerned is sufficient; and

(iv) if not, of the measures that will be taken in that regard?

(c) If not, why?
