Hon. Imran Maharoof,—To ask the Minister of Health and Mass Media,— (1)

(a) Is he aware —

(i) that the Muttur and the Kinniya hospitals in the Trincomalee District have been given the status of Grade 'A';

(ii) however, that physical resources conforming to Grade 'A' have not been hitherto provided to the said hospitals; and

(iii) that the aforesaid hospitals have not been provided with adequate staff?

(b) Will he inform this House of the —

(i) steps that will be taken to provide the necessary physical resources to those hospitals;

(ii) number of consultant doctors currently serving in each of those hospitals separately;

(iii) steps taken to fill the staff vacancies existing in the said hospitals; and

(iv) reasons for not taking over the Kinniya and Muttur hospitals to the Central Government?

(c) If not, why?
