Hon. Rohitha Abeygunawardhana,—To ask the Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources,— (1)

(a) Will he inform this House of the —

(i) number of fishery harbours in Sri Lanka;

(ii) measures taken to develop those fishery harbours;

(iii) number of multiday fishing vessels in Sri Lanka, the number of such multiday fishing vessels engaged in fishing activities and the number of those that are not engaged in fishing activities at present, separately;

(iv) number of one day fishing vessels in Sri Lanka, the number of such one day fishing vessels engaged in fishing activities and the number of those that are not engaged in fishing activities at present, separately; and

(v) measures that have been taken to develop the fishing industry by now?

(b) If not, why?
