Hon. Rauff Hakeem, Attorney at Law,— To ask the Minister of Urban Development, Construction and Housing,— (1)

(a) Will he inform this House—

(i) whether he is aware that a community water project called ‘Kurakkanhenegedara Drinking Water Project’ has been started in Katupotha in the Kurunegala District;

(ii) of the amount spent on the initial activities of  the aforesaid project;

(iii) of the present progress of the aforesaid project;

(iv) whether he is aware that the aforesaid project was implemented so that the hospital located in that area and people belonging to more than 700 family units in the areas of Kurakkanhenegedara, Sapumalpuraya, Dangolla and Katupotha are covered by the project;

(v) of the reasons for the aforesaid project to come to a standstill by  now;

(vi) whether steps will be taken to fulfill the drinking water requirement of the people in the above-mentioned areas by expeditiously implementing the aforesaid project; and

(vii) ‍if so, of the date on which the aforesaid  project will resume?

(b) If not, why?
