Hon. Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)

(a) Is he aware that —

(i) the grasslands that available for the livestock of about six hundred thousand in number in Keviliyamadu belonging to the Manmunei Southwest Divisional Secretariat Division, Mailaththa Madu belonging to the Koralepattu South Divisional Secretariat Division and Unnichchei belonging to the Manmunai West Divisional Secretariat Division within the Batticaloa District; and

(ii) nevertheless, the grass lands concerned have not been gazetted as “livestock grasslands” so far?

(b) Will he inform this House of the—

(i) reason for the abovementioned grasslands have not been gazetted as “livestock grasslands”; and

(ii) steps that are going to be taken in this regard?

(c) If not, why?
