Presentation of Reports from the Committees

(i)    The Report of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Transport and Communication was presented by the Chairman of the Committee, the Hon. Chamal Rajapaksa.

(ii)    The Report of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Women and Gender was presented by the Chairperson of the Committee, the Hon. (Dr.) (Mrs.) Thusitha Wijemanna.

Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Gayantha Karunatileka, the Chief Government Whip presented the following Bills entitled-

(i)    Shop and Office Employees (Regulation of Employment and Remuneration) (Amendment) - to amend the Shop and Office Employees (Regulation of Employment and Remuneration) Act (Chapter 129)
(ii)    Maternity Benefits (Amendment) - to amend the Maternity Benefits Ordinance (Chapter 140)

Civil Aviation (Amendment) Bill

was passed by the House.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1256 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Tuesday 22nd May 2018.
