Ministerial Statements

Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development, the Hon. Sagala Ratnayaka replied to the Question raised by the Hon. Anura Dissanayaka under Standing Order 23(2) of the Parliament on 24.11.2017 regarding the difficulties faced by the people due to the recent incident that took place in Galle, Gintota area.

Select Committees

Select Committee of Parliament to look into and report on the expenses incurred by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka for the purchasing of the Office for the Sri Lankan Embassy in Brazil and the Office for the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations, New York, USA, separately in respect of each premises

House agreed to the Motion moved by the Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Leader of the House of Parliament to grant an extension of time till 05 June 2018 as the Committee is unable to report its findings to Parliament within the time limit granted by the motion agreed to by the Parliament on 09 February 2017.


The Privilege motion that the question of privilege arising out of the matter raised by Hon. (Prof.) Ashu Marasinghe, M.P. on 18th November, 2017 in Parliament to the effect that privileges of the Members of Parliament have been infringed, moved by the Hon. Leader of the House of Parliament, was referred to the Committee on Privileges under Standing Order No. 127 of the Parliament.

(i)    Appropriation Bill (2018) - Committee

Today is the Twentieth Allotted Day of the Appropriation Bill (2018) – “Committee Stage Debate”.

(ii)    Annual Report and Accounts of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation - 2013 (appearing as Item No. 2 of today’s Order Paper)

was approved by the House.

The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1855 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Wednesday 6th December 2017.
