Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,—To ask the Minister of Home Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the names of Grama Niladhari Divisions in and around Colombo where the people with Chinese ancestry had been living in Sri Lanka for a long time;
(ii) the number of people with Chinese ancestry living in those areas at present; and
(iii) whether it has been reported that such people live in other areas of Sri Lanka?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether the government has guaranteed the right for the fulfilling of fundamental needs such as education, higher education and health of these people; and
(ii) if so, the measures taken in that regard?
(c) Will he further inform this House—
(i) whether the government has extended patronage for them to preserve their cultural identities and traditional heritage; and
(ii) if so, what they are?
(d) If not, why?
